English Language Arts

  • English Language Arts Grade 4 Readers in grade 4 learn to dig deeper into stories and texts by finding clues that authors leave behind, then backing up their ideas with actual evidence from the page. You'll practice retelling, summarizing, and figuring out tricky words from context, while also learning to notice when something isn't making sense and how to fix it.
  • English Language Arts Grade 5 You'll learn to read like a detective, pulling evidence from different texts to support your ideas and spot connections across stories, articles, and poems. You'll also strengthen your writing by crafting thoughtful analyses and mastering word parts that unlock the meaning of unfamiliar words.
  • English Language Arts Grade 6 Inferences, themes, and plot twists in fiction. Metaphor, personification, and Greek and Latin roots that unlock unfamiliar words. Informational essays, persuasive arguments, and narratives with dialogue and pacing. This course covers the reading, writing, and research skills that prepare you for more complex texts and ideas.
  • English Language Arts Grade 7 Foreshadowing, suspense, and multiple themes in fiction. Connotation, rhetorical devices, and Greek and Latin roots that deepen your vocabulary. Argumentative essays with credible evidence, literary narratives with craft and voice, and research projects that synthesize multiple sources. This course builds the analytical and communication skills you need for increasingly complex texts.
  • English Language Arts Grade 8 Non-linear plot structures, character motivations, and thematic development across texts. Extended metaphor, rhetorical devices like analogy and juxtaposition, and logical fallacies such as bandwagon and circular reasoning. Argumentative essays with counter-claims, literary analysis of drama and poetry, and multi-source research presentations. This course sharpens the critical thinking and communication skills that bridge middle school and high school.
  • English I You'll build a stronger vocabulary by learning how words are constructed from roots and prefixes, then apply that knowledge across different subjects and texts.By analyzing context clues and reading widely, you'll develop the skills to understand unfamiliar words and support your ideas with evidence from what you read.
  • English II Read literature from around the world and learn to recognize how culture, history, and language shape meaning. You'll analyze figurative language, tone, and argument in unfamiliar texts, building skills to understand any writer's choices—no matter where they're from.

Mathematics

  • Mathematics Grade 4 You'll master the number system from whole numbers up to a billion and learn how decimals and fractions fit into it.These skills let you estimate, compare, and break down numbers in ways you'll use constantly in math and real life.
  • Mathematics Grade 5 You'll master decimals and larger multiplication problems—skills that unlock everything from calculating tips and understanding prices to working with measurements in science and cooking.By the end, you'll confidently read, compare, and round decimals, and multiply bigger numbers without a calculator.
  • Mathematics Grade 6 From classifying integers to solving real-world problems with ratios and percents, this course builds the mathematical foundations that Grade 6 students need. You will explore expressions, equations, geometry, data analysis, and even personal finance — learning to think like a mathematician along the way.
  • Mathematics Grade 7 From adding negative fractions to predicting outcomes with probability, this course develops the mathematical thinking Grade 7 students need. You will explore proportional relationships, geometric similarity, linear equations, and personal finance — connecting abstract math to decisions you make every day.
  • Mathematics Grade 8 Scientific notation, linear systems, the Pythagorean theorem, and transformations — this course covers the mathematics that bridges middle school and high school. You will work with irrational numbers, solve equations with variables on both sides, calculate volumes of 3D shapes, and interpret scatter plots. Financial literacy topics round it out with real decisions about college costs and credit.
  • Algebra I Algebra I builds the mathematical foundation you need to model real-world situations and solve complex problems. You'll master functions, exponents, polynomials, and linear relationships—the core tools that unlock everything from physics to finance.
  • Geometry Geometry teaches you to see how shapes, angles, and distances work in space—and to prove why they work that way. You'll move shapes around the coordinate plane, construct figures with compass and straightedge, and build logical arguments using definitions and theorems that form the foundation of mathematical reasoning.

Science

  • Science Grade 4 You'll investigate what matter is made of and how it behaves, from sorting materials by their properties to understanding why magnets work without touching. You'll measure, mix, and transform substances while discovering that matter never disappears—it just changes form.
  • Science Grade 5 Discover why ice melts, how salt dissolves in water, and what happens when substances combine—all by understanding matter at the particle level. You'll explore forces and motion, learn why some mixtures separate while others don't, and see how matter transforms while staying fundamentally the same.
  • Science Grade 6 You'll explore the building blocks of everything around you—from why ice melts to how metals differ from nonmetals—and learn to spot the hidden forces and reactions happening in everyday situations like friction and chemical change.
  • Science Grade 7 You'll explore what matter is made of—from individual atoms to the compounds that make up everything around you—and learn to read the periodic table like a scientist. You'll also discover the difference between physical and chemical changes, understand how solutions work, and master the math behind motion using distance-time graphs.
  • Science Grade 8 You'll explore the building blocks of everything around you—from why water beads up on a leaf to how atoms rearrange during chemical reactions.Learn how forces and mass work together to create motion, and discover why some substances are acids while others are bases, all grounded in real phenomena you can observe and test.
  • Biology From DNA replication to natural selection, Biology covers the science of life at every scale. Explore how cells build organisms, how genes pass traits across generations, and how species evolve over millions of years. Aligned to Texas TEKS §112.34 for Grade 9.
  • Chemistry From atomic structure to chemical reactions, Chemistry uncovers the hidden rules that govern matter and energy. Investigate why elements bond, how stoichiometry predicts reaction outcomes, and what nuclear chemistry reveals about energy. Aligned to Texas TEKS §112.35 for Grade 10.

Social Studies

  • Texas History Grade 4 Discover how Texas became Texas through the stories of American Indian nations, Spanish explorers, bold settlers, and the revolution that created a republic. You'll trace the clash of cultures, follow the empresarios who built colonies, and understand the pivotal events that shaped this vast state.
  • US History Grade 5 Discover how America's founding ideas took shape, from the first European settlements through the creation of the Constitution. You'll explore what drove colonists to rebel against British rule and learn how documents like the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights established the government we have today.
  • World Cultures Grade 6 Discover how the world became the way it is today by tracing colonization, trade, and migration across continents. You'll analyze historical conflicts and key figures that shaped modern societies, and explore how geography, economics, and culture continue to influence where and how people live.
