Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This cookie policy explains how Epivo uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and application. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They are widely used to make websites work, improve user experience, and provide information to site owners. Similar technologies include session storage and local storage, which serve comparable purposes but differ in how long data is retained.
2. How Epivo uses cookies
With your consent we store a small number of first-party cookies. Analytics cookies tell us which pages are read and how people reach us. If you also accept advertising cookies, we store the click identifier that a search or social advert adds to the link you followed, so we can tell which campaign led to a sign-up, an app install, a first lesson or a purchase.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or cross-site tracking, and we do not build a profile of you or share your browsing with advertisers. We do share the click identifier with the advertising platform that issued it, so it can match those steps to the campaign you came from.
You can accept analytics without accepting advertising, and you can change your mind at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer. If you decline, we still store one small cookie recording that choice, so we do not ask again.
Fonts and page assets are served directly from our own infrastructure. One exception: we load Google Tag Manager from Google's servers on every page, so Google receives your IP address and the address of the page you are viewing.
We use the following categories of cookies:
- Necessary cookies — required for the site to function (e.g., storing your cookie consent preference). These are set without requiring consent.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors find and use our site. These are only set after you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner.
- Advertising cookies — store the click identifier that an advertising platform adds to a link, so what follows — a sign-up, an app install, a first lesson or a purchase — can be attributed to the campaign it came from. These are only set after you accept advertising cookies, which is a separate choice from analytics.
3. Cookies we set
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
_epivo_consent | Stores your cookie consent preference (accepted or rejected) | 1 year | Necessary |
_epivo_vid | Anonymous visitor identifier — a random ID that links your visits across sessions so we can understand how visitors navigate and find our site | 1 year | Analytics |
_epivo_utm_source | Records how you first found our site (e.g., Google, social media) | 30 days | Analytics |
_epivo_utm_medium | Records the type of link that brought you here (e.g., organic search, paid ad) | 30 days | Analytics |
_epivo_utm_campaign | Records the specific marketing campaign, if any | 30 days | Analytics |
_epivo_gclid | Google Ads click identifier — lets us attribute a sign-up, app install, first lesson or purchase to the advert you clicked | 90 days | Advertising |
_epivo_gbraid, _epivo_wbraid | Google Ads click identifiers used instead of the one above on some devices — the same purpose. | 90 days | Advertising |
_epivo_fbclid | Meta click identifier — the same purpose, for adverts on Facebook and Instagram | 30 days | Advertising |
_epivo_rdt_cid | Reddit click identifier — the same purpose, for adverts on Reddit | 30 days | Advertising |
_epivo_ct | A random reference code that stands in for the click identifier. When you get the app from our site, the app receives this code, never the click identifier itself, so an install can be matched to the advert. | 90 days | Advertising |
Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you accept them via the cookie consent banner, and
they are separate choices. If you reject both, only the necessary _epivo_consent cookie
is set, to remember that choice. Analytics data is stored on our own servers and is not shared. The
click identifiers above are the exception: each is shared with the advertising platform that issued
it, and with no one else, solely so that platform can match your sign-up, app install, first lesson or purchase to the campaign you came
from. Your browser may also shorten these cookies — Safari and Firefox limit cookies set this way on
an advert link to about 24 hours, regardless of the durations above. For Meta and Reddit we also send a one-way hash of your email address, which those platforms require in order to match the sign-up; we never send the address itself. Google's own tag may additionally set _gcl_* cookies on this domain once you accept advertising cookies; those are expired too when you withdraw consent.
4. Authentication
When you log in to the Epivo platform, we use standard authentication tokens to maintain your session. These are strictly necessary for the service to function and do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive.
5. Third-party services
Our payment processor (Stripe) may set its own cookies when you interact with payment forms. These cookies are controlled by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's privacy policy. They are strictly necessary for secure payment processing. We also load Google Tag Manager, provided by Google, on every page — see section 2.
6. Managing your cookie preferences
When you first visit our site you are offered three choices: reject all, accept analytics only, or accept analytics and advertising. Visitors outside the EU/EEA are not shown the banner and are accepted for both by default, and can change that at any time. You can change your preference whenever you like by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page. If you withdraw consent, the relevant cookies are deleted immediately and no further data is collected.
You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified before a cookie is set. Note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of our service (such as staying logged in).
