What certificates show
The certificate PDF carries:
- The learner's name
- The course or curriculum completed
- A list of what was learned and practised
- The curriculum it follows, and the school year where that applies
- The completion date
- A credential ID and a QR code that links to its verification page
- An Epivo signature
- A short statement of what the certificate is and is not
Whether an evaluator, school district or umbrella school accepts it as supporting evidence is entirely their decision. It is not a credential, and nothing about it obliges anyone to recognise it.
How to use them
Depending on your state's requirements, you might:
- Include certificates in your annual portfolio
- Submit them with progress reports, alongside your own records
- Present them during evaluations or reviews
- Keep them as part of your child's academic record
One thing to know before you plan around them: if your child is enrolled in a full curriculum, the per-course certificates are in-app milestones — they have no share link, QR code or downloadable PDF. The downloadable, verifiable certificate is the one issued when the whole curriculum is finished. A child enrolled in individually chosen courses gets a shareable certificate for each one.
