How to select a teacher with a Premium voice
- Open the menu and tap Preferences
- Tap Teachers — the row appears whenever your session is currently using a Premium voice
- Browse the teacher personas; each card shows the name, personality and a voice preview button
- Tap the preview to hear the voice, then select the teacher you want and confirm
Epivo ends the session you are in and starts a new one with your new teacher.
What makes Premium voices different
Premium voices from ElevenLabs are generated in the cloud using advanced neural synthesis. Compared to the free voice:
- More natural intonation and rhythm
- Better expression of emphasis and emotion
- Smoother, more human-like sound quality
The difference is most noticeable in longer conversations where natural pacing and expression matter.
Requirements
Premium voices need:
- Premium voice time left in your allowance — 1 hour in total on the Free plan, a weekly budget on Mini and Max
- An internet connection (speech is streamed from the cloud)
When your Premium voice time runs out mid-session, Epivo hands you over to the free voice and keeps your teacher's name and identity. If your connection drops out instead, the lesson simply waits and picks up when you are back online — every part of a session needs the internet, whichever voice you are on.
