Automatic voice selection
Epivo follows a simple priority order:
- Premium — used while you still have Premium voice time left and your chosen teacher has a Premium voice
- Free — used once that time is spent. Where Epivo has its own on-device voice for your language it uses that; otherwise it uses your device's own built-in voice
Common scenarios
- First session ever: if Epivo has its own on-device voice for your language it may still be downloading, so you might hear your device's built-in voice for the first few minutes — both are the free voice.
- Free plan: the Premium voice for your first hour of Premium voice time, then the free voice from then on. That hour is a one-time allowance and does not refill.
- Mini or Max: the Premium voice for as long as that week's budget lasts, then the free voice until it refills.
- Premium voice time runs out mid-session: Epivo moves you to the free voice and keeps the same teacher identity.
- Your connection drops mid-session: the lesson waits and picks up when you are back online. Every part of a session needs the internet, whichever voice you are on.
- Switching languages: if Epivo has its own on-device voice for the new language it downloads automatically; if not, your device's built-in voice is used.
